ALBERBURY slipped to a three wicket defeat as Mark Bissell guided Shifnal IIs to glory at Pecknall Farm.

The hosts suffered an indifferent start with opener Lara Jones caught by Ian Bissell off Calvin Priest (1-6) for a duck before Charles Bourne was bowled by Dominic Ashley (1-11).

Surviving opener Mike Crawshaw was joined by Mark Jones for the third wicket before being caught by Ismail Anwar off Shaun Lorimer (1-31) for 14.

Jones led the middle order but the hosts struggled with James Harrap (8)snared LBW by Amar Jassal (1-20) while Sam Morris fell to Jonathan Mountford for 18.

Matthew Bevan was run by Anwar for two before Myles Thomas departed to Iain Mills (1-20) for a duck as wickets continued to tumble.

Mountford (3-24) made light work of the tail end challenge of Neil Savage (2) and Andy Holloway (4) to leave Oliver Corbett (3no) defending the final wicket alongside Jones (48no) and Alberbury 132-9.

Alberbury struck early in reply with Morris removing Anwar (0) and Lorimer (13) before Shifnal built up a third wicket partnership as Josh White was joined by Mark Bissell.

Jones caught White off Thomas for 29 before catching Ashley off Bevan for nine and Shifnal wobble as Holloway struck to remove Ian Bissell (22) and Jassal and Jonathan Meek for ducks.

However Mills (8no) joined Mark Bissell (52no) in an unbroken eighth wicket partnership to guide Shifnal to 138-7 and victory.
