LLANIDLOES Rugby Club hosted its annual Primary School Tag Rugby Festival last month.
More than 280 pupils from six schools across the Llanidloes cluster area took part with 28 teams lining up for an action packed day of sport.
Llanidloes, Llandinam, Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon, Caersws, Carno and Rhayader schools were each represented during a superb event at Llanidloes RFC’s Cae Hafren ground.
The change in format was also hailed a resounding success with the number of teams doubled from last year and will see a Year 3/4 event held at the same venue later in the year.
Regional rugby development officer Dai Higgs said: “It’s great to see the Llanidloes RFC Primary School Tag Festival go from strength to strength.
“Over the past 10 years the event has allowed all primary school pupils in Llanidloes area the opportunity to participate in tag rugby.
“This year has seen an even more inclusive approach and that is reflected in the numbers attend.”
