RADNOR Valley Football Club has gone back to the future with the appointment of Rob Evans as new manager.

Evans recently retired from refereeing following a 27 year career but is already back in the game at School Lane and returns to the dug-out of the club he previously managed.

Former Vale of Arrow player Phil Davies has also joined the MMP-NL Mid Wales League One side as assistant manager.

Evans takes the helm from Paul Morgan who has departed the club after three golden years which saw the village club win its first Radnorshire Cup title.

Evans said: ""This side has the basis of a top three place in this league and it will be the aim of the management team to achieve this.

"We know we need to strengthen in some areas and we will be looking to add players to the squad.

"Radnor won the their first nine games at the start of last season and a similar run next season would give us a good footing to work on."

Evans is a popular and well known figure in Mid Wales football having played for Llanidloes Town, Caersws and Presteigne before managing Valley in the Mid Wales League South and embarking on a successful career as an official.

Anyone interested in joining the club as a player or support staff are asked to contact 07960 110073.
