BUILTH Wells hosted the fourth edition of the Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival last weekend.

Dan Nash and Hannah Jarvis were convincing winners of the 10k race which formed part of the Welsh Trail Running Championships and Welsh-Inter-Regional Championships.

Cardiff based Nash took overall race victory in 36:28, leading home a large field with Joseph Reardon of Aberdare and John Howells of Pontypridd completing the podium.

Nash said: “I didn’t know what to expect. It was a tough course but I’m glad to take the title”.

Mynydd Ddu athlete Jarvis claimed women’s victory, finishing two minutes ahead of Katie Beecher in second with Sandra Chipper third.

Meanwhile Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club was represented by Aled and Carys Breeze.

Aled won the 3k race with Carys the fourth girl over the finishing line as the duo maintained their fine season.
