Newtown IIs slumped to a three wicket defeat at home to Condover in Henshalls Shropshire League Five.

Sam Morris (40) and Tom Foulkes (32) top scored for the hosts but Andy Mottram (5-22) and Mark Griffiths (3-40) restricted Town to just 124 to defend.

Matt Humphreys (4-34) led the Newtown attack in reply and included the wicket on Ruchira Nimantha Lehuwala Bandarage for a top scoring knock of 55.

Support from Jonathon Davies (2-26) maintained pressure but Condover worked the scoreboard with supporting knocks from Griffiths (14) and Simon Dodds (13) before Jordan Barker (16no) guided the visitors to 125-7 and victory.

Elsewhere Alberbury IIs held out for a draw at Wem

Jack Davies carried his bat with an unbeaten knock of 104 with support from Marcus Bruce (44) before being joined by David Barnett (61no) in guiding Wem to 252-3 to defend with Alex Hughes (2-43) taking the wickets.

A strong opening to their reply was led by James Hearle (41), Lara Jones (32) and Jonathan Green (21) before Barnett (4-42) swept through the middle order.

However Rob Owen (2no) and Owain Roberts (4no) dug in for the ninth wicket as Alberbury closed on 160-8 and a draw.

Meanwhile Montgomery IIs crashed to an eight wicket defeat at home to Market Drayton.

Openers Matthew Jones (65) and Brian Corfield (29) opened brightly for the hosts with support from Lennon Bryan (19) and Keith Griffiths (11) before James McCelland (4-35) and Paul Gould (2-33) struck to limit Monty to 174-8.

Nigel Wellings carried his bat in reply with an unbeaten knock of 101 in reply.

Brandon Webb offered support before being run out by Richard Jones for 31 to leave Alex Owens (11no) to join Wellings in guiding Market Drayton to 176-2 and a comfortable victory.
