DAVE Anthony inspired Newtown to a 29 run win at home to Bridgnorth IIs in Henshalls League One.
Newtown opened the batting but Dan Kearsley (2-25) made light work of openers Aaron Knight (4) and Matthew Knight (16) before Toby Hughes and Ross Hurdley (2-18) took centre stage.
Dave Laird offered resistance before his departure, caught by Patrick Smallman off Hughes (3-38) for a top scoring 69.
Alex Yarnley (3-11) wiped up tail end resistance with Joe Monk (10no) marking his debut by guiding Newtown to 135 to defend.
Anthony (4-27) destroyed the Bridgnorth top order in reply, including the key wicket of Niall McAdam for a top scoring 14.
Bryan Galpin (2-9) maintained the pressure with Tom Anderson (1-23), Laird (1-21), Craig Davies (1-4) and Monk (1-7) completing Bridgnorth’s fall for 106.
