ANDREW Davies led a talented array of Powys stars in taking on the world famous Virgin London Marathon on Sunday.

The 2019 edition proved to be the fastest ever London Marathon with Forden based Davies, running for Stockport AC, crossing the line in 2:15:37 to seal 26th place.

Newtown based Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club was well represented and led home by Neil Godsell whose time of 2:46:46 earned him 822nd place overall.

Just behind came Clive Morgan in 2:48:47 while Lenny Hughes marked his 100th marathon by crossing the line in 3:13:54.

Wayne Davies completed the course in 3:45:38 to pip clubmate Ifan Jones who crossed the line with a time of 3:45:38 with Kerry based athlete Luke Mumford registering a 3:48:25 finish.

Rachel Butler crossed the line in 5:14:59 with clubmate Sue Carroll a second behind with a flat 5:15:00.

Meanwhile emerging club prospects Ollie Jones and Callum Morgan represented Wales in the mini marathon.
