LLANFAIR United took a major step toward a North Wales League and cup treble with victory over Bethel seeing them crowned North East Wales Cup champions in Broughton on Sunday.
United set the tone with Mary Griffiths and Gemma Jones going close early on.
It was no surprise when the Mid Wales side broke the deadlock on 30 minutes with Griffiths releasing Jones who beat the offside trap to calmly slot her side ahead.
United doubled their lead before the break with Griffiths’ corner steered home by Nora Davies.
Bethel came into the game after the interval but failed to seriously test United goalkeeper Tracey Godsell.
United introduced Ffion Lewis for the final 20 minutes with the young winger impressing with a bright display which ensured her side ended the final on a high.
