COBRA Rugby Club’s stars of the future underlined their potential with glory at the Whitchurch Junior Rugby Festival.
The Meifod club’s under 12s shone under the Easter sun with group qualification secured courtesy of a 15-0 victories over both Chester and Caldy before completing 30-0 wins over Whitchurch and Chippenham.
A 0-0 draw with Wrexham clinched top sot for COBRA and qualification for the final.
The Meifod team went on to play Bridgnorth in the final and triumphed 15-0 with tries from Alfie Poole, Rob Andrew and a fine individual effort by Gethin Morris who ran the length of the pitch to score.
Proud club chairman Trevor Jones said: “The boys showed great teamwork, respect and sportsmanship throughout the festival and are a credit to the club on a highly successful day for COBRA RFC.”
