CHAZ Davies kick started his World Superbike Championship (WSBK) season with two podium finishes in last weekend’s third round in Spain.

The Presteigne star rode his Aruba.it Racing Duacti to his first podium finish of the season with a third place finish in race one in Aragon and repeated the feat in race two.

However Davies was once again in the shadow of team-mate Alvaro Bautista who maintained his unbeaten start to the season.

Davies now heads to Assen in Holland with confidence as he bids to secure his first win of the campaign.

Davies said: “It was good to make progress at Aragon so now I hope to be able to build on that.

“Assen is a different type of circuit from the others and requires a different riding style but I’ve got more confidence now with the Panigale V4 R and me and the team have made a lot of progress with the set-up.

“It’ll be nice to try and get between Alvaro and the other guys and fight for the podium.”
