Conwy Borough 3 Llanrhaeadr 1

LLANRHAEADR became the latest victims of inform Conwy Borough on a day to forget on the North Wales coast.

Lee Green steered Iain Edmunds’ free-kick over the bar as the villagers began on the front foot only to be stung as Borough struck twice in five minutes.

Corrig McGonigle found room in the area to fire Borough into a ninth minute lead and just five minutes later Dean Seagar doubled the advantage.

However Llanrhaeadr were back in the game before the break with Iwan Matthews releasing player-manager Marc Griffiths to net.

The villagers struggled to trouble the home defence after the break and Borough settled the outcome with 13 minutes remaining with McGonigle releasing Sean McCaffrey to net.

Llanrhaeadr’s disappointing day was completed when Griffiths earned a second caution and his dismissal deep into injury-time.
