TNS 3 Bala Town 1

Ryan Brobbel's double fired TNS to a comeback win over Bala Town to return them to the JD Welsh Premier summit.

The Saints missed a first-half penalty after dominating and needed two goals from the Northern Irishman and a customary Greg Draper finish to cancel out Stuart Jones goal.

The recalled Kurtis Byrne spurned a glorious chance to give TNS the lead on five minutes only to fire over from six yards.

TNS came closer to taking the lead on five minutes when Brobbel’s curled free-kick from 25 yards struck the outside of the left post.

Bala’s first sight of goal came on 25 minute when goalkeeper Paul Harrison denied Chris Venables from 20 yards.

TNS spurned their most best chance when Danny Redmond’s jinking run in the box was abruptly ended on 36 minutes only to be denied from the spot by goalkeeper Ashley Morris with Aeron Edwards' follow up effort blocked on the line.

TNS were punished for their lack of proficiency 10 minutes after the break when Jones broke the deadlock for the Lakesiders.

However the hosts hit back to level minutes later with Brobbel's deflected free-kick beyond Morris.

TNS led for the first time on 64 minutes with Jamie Mullan's cross knocked down by Blaine Hudson for Brobbel to net and complete his double.

TNS continued to attack and it was no surprise when substitute Greg Draper marked his arrival with a toe poked finish to wrong foot Morris with 15 minutes remaining

TNS: Harrison, Lewis, Bodenham, Hudson, Marriott, Routledge, Redmond, Mullan, Brobbel, Edwards (Cieslewicz 72), Byrne (Draper 57). Subs: Dutton, Nembhard, Ebbe, Holland.
