TNS will place one hand on the JD Welsh Premier trophy with six points from their back to back clashes with Bala Town this week.

The Saints host the Lakesiders tonight (Friday) and make the return trip to Bala on Wednesday with manager Scott Ruscoe naming a full squad.

TNS are further buoyed by their dominant record against a Bala side which has won just once in 2019.

“We’ve got a few coming back who have had niggles in recent weeks but we’re looking very strong and ready,” said Ruscoe.

“Everyone wants to be in that starting XI but we’ve got a 24 strong squad which creates problems for me, especially after the last performance where I could be forgiven for not making any changes. “

Ruscoe remained confident his side would not slip up after their 2-0 win at title rivals Connahs Quay Nomads a fortnight ago

“We’re going out on the front foot and we’ve spoken about not making the same mistakes of the past and losing a game after we have done so well in everything in terms of planning and performance.

“We do not want to go backwards and we need to push on with our games in hand where we can go four points clear and not make it harder than it needs to be.

“This season we haven’t always hit the high standards of where we need to be but we are looking forward and being positive with the aim to win alll six remaining games.”

Ruscoe admitted surprise at Bala Town’s lull in the second half of the season but last week’s victory at Barry Town underlined the Lakesiders’ threat.

“I’ve been surprised at how Bala have struggled in the second phase, especially with the players they have got and their ability in wide areas and up front,” said Ruscoe.

Ruscoe confessed TNS’ full time status had ensured a major advantage over a Bala side which has remained part-time despite qualifying for Europe five times since 2014.

However this season the Lakesiders look set to miss out on Europe.

“I don’t think they get to work enough on team shape as they only train twice a week, “ said Ruscoe “From that I can see why they have struggled but I know they haven’t done well and they’re a few points behind us now.

“They will be coming to Park Hall looking for a point.”
