GUILSFIELD Primary School’s commitment to sport has been recognised with the awarding of the Gareth Oldham Cup.
The annual award is presented to the high school and primary school to have excelled in sport.
This year Guilsfield won the award having won the North Wales Sportshall athletics title, Welsh mixed novice gymnastics title and Urdd relay swimming team title while the Year 6 girls mixed tennis team were second in North Wales.
The school’s cricket also represented North Powys in the North Wales Schools Cricket Cup.
Deputy head teacher Julie Maguire said: “The school is proud of its many achievements, in particular our success at national and regional level.
“Credit to Bethan Breeze and Gethin Pryce for working during their summer holiday to nominate the school.”
