JOEL Weale was the match winner as Talgarth Town held out for a 1-0 win at Newcastle in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League South.
The Royals were forced to hang on and ended the game with 10 men after top scorer Harry Sharman saw red for foul and abusive language.
Meanwhile Darren Murphy netted twice as Llandrindod Wells Reserves celebrated a 3-0 win at Brecon Northcote with Andrew Morgan also on target for the Spamen.
Tom Groves was also a two goal hero as St Harmon toasted their third win of the season with a 2-1 win at Felindre who remained in contention through Ieuan Thomas.
