NEWTOWN Wanderers moved into the promotion spots in Mitsubishi Division Two of the J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League with a 5-2 win over Churchstoke Reserves.
Neil Lloyd-Jones led the Black and Ambers to glory with a double while Dave Ash, Aron James and Tyler McCarthy completed the tally with the visiting Marketmen replying through Tony Meredith and Jake Baker.
Meanwhile Llanymynech also tasted glory with goals from Dan Astley and Callum Whyte cancelling Rob Edwards’ reply in a 2-1 win at home to Llanfechain.
The remainder of the league programme was wiped out by weekend weather.
