DREW Hughes will represent Wales at the European Pool Championships in Bridlington in May.
The Newtown based pool player will represent his country against the best players from across the continent from May 6-11 and is looking for sponsorship to help cover costs.
Hughes was allocated the wild card to step up for Wales and is relishing the prospect of testing himself against players from 20 countries.
Hughes has been playing pool since he was 10 and travels all over the country and Europe playing at the highest level of the sport in televised events.
Hughes has also won a host of Newtown Pool League and county titles.
2018 has been a massive year for pool in terms of exposure with the introduction of live TV but 2019 is set to be even bigger again with a host of events scheduled to be televised to a growing audience.
“I am looking for sponsorship and in return will advertise multiple advertising opportunities,” said Hughes.
“Pool is getting more television coverage and in 2019 I will be competing in IPA events which will be featured live on the BBC Sports app, Freesports and Sky. I will also be doing charity events.
“Any business which would like to sponsor me I encourage to get in touch directly.”
