THE annual Andrew Lloyd Football Festival continues its legacy of boosting sport in the area.

Each year organisers of the popular Forden football festival make donations to local sports teams and sportsmen and women.

This year Wales international and Berriew under 16s player Carrie Jones was joined by Welshpool based Welsh under 16s international goalkeeper Max Williams.

Organisers have also presented a cheque to Aled Owen to support him in his wheelchair football while also contributing to the Rhys Jones Bucket List

The Honey Pot Centre, which support young carers also benefited while Wales Air Ambulance, Orthopaedic Institution Arthoplasty, St. John’s Ambulance, North Powys Kidney Patients Association, Fire Fighters Charity, Buttington Musical Theatre Company and Norbury School also received cheques.

Berriew Junior Football Club and Forden United were also among the recipients.

This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, June 29 at Forden Community Centre with entries now open following a record year in 2018.
