CALLUM Roberts has been selected to represent Wales in the forthcoming C international against England.

The friendly will take place at Salford City's Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday, March 19 with strong Mid Wales representation in the travelling Welsh squad.

However Mid Wales is also well represented with Newtown defender Roberts earning his call-up and reward for an impressive first full season at Newtown following his release from English Football League One side Shrewsbury Town.

The Welshpool teenager is the son of former Newtown, TNS and Welshpool Town star Mark Roberts who made more than 300 Welsh top flight appearances

Also in the Welsh squad is Bala Town midfielder Chris Venables with the former Caersws, Aberystwyth Town and Welshpool Town star joined by TNS midfielder Aeron Edwards and Aberystwyth Town's Matthew Jones in representing Mid Wales.

Caernarfon Town goalkeeper Alex Ramsay, a former Llanfyllin High School student who came through the youth system at TNS, completes Mid Wales interest.
