Penrhyncoch 0 Prestatyn Town 0

PENRHYNCOCH ensured their survival hopes remained alive with a battling goalless draw at home to Prestatyn Town.

The injury ravaged Roosters were reduced to a threadbare 14 man squad with several playing despite injuries as the club entertained the fallen Welsh Premier outfit.

Home goalkeeper Lee Jenkins was among the walking wounded and despite his fractured shin made a smart save to deny Oli Buckley from Ben Maher's cross as Prestatyn pressed early on.

Dan Roberts' goalbound header was also blocked in a packed goalmouth as Prestatyn sought to break the deadlock.

The pressure continued to mount with Dave Hayes blasting just over with a 20 yard free-kick while Chris Bennett also went close.

Penrhyncoch were not without their moments and handed the North Walians a scare when Steff Davies' corner struck the bar while veteran defender Jon Foligno also headed wide.

The second-half proved a scrappy affair with few clear openings until Davies went down in the area only to see penalty appeals rejected.

Prestatyn went close through Buckley and Ian Griffiths with the latter also seeing his own penalty appeals rejected as the match petered out into a draw.
