TNS travel to Caernarfon Town on Monday night with manager Scott Ruscoe backing his side to recover from last weekend’s disappointment.

TNS conceded a last gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw at home to title rivals Barry Town United with Ruscoe hitting out at the performance of referee David Morgan who also sent off Tom Holland and issued five cautions to TNS players.

“I wouldn’t blame the players,” said Ruscoe. “We had three or four good chances on top of the two goals we scored and on another day we’d have held out for another 40 seconds.

“I’m disappointed we were down to 10 men and the seven or eight minutes added on which was far too much.

“I don’t speak to referees but the assistant let us down. I felt he was too quick to give the decision for their penalty so I wasn’t happy.”

Ruscoe insisted he would not be panicking and backed his side to return to winning ways at Caernarfon.

“The Barry game was not a setback,” said Ruscoe. “We’ve played eight games, drawn two, won six with 30 goals plus scored and two conceding.”

Ruscoe pointed to the crunch clash at Jenner Park on Saturday when Barry host leaders Connahs Quay Nomads.

“Both of them can’t get three points, and I think it will be a draw,” said Ruscoe. “A Barry win would be great for us because it means Nomads are pegged back and if we win on Monday then we’re on top.”

However Ruscoe warned against underestimating Caernarfon on Monday night.

“They’re good at home and play well when they play up to their crowd there but I really want to see us go out there and be ruthless in front of goal,” said Ruscoe.

“If we score one, I want two , I want three and I want to see us totally dominate possession, which is what we’ve been doing over the last few games.

“We’ve scored goals too and won comfortably but we haven’t always controlled games like I like us to.”
