COBRA maintained their pursuit of the Game On North Wales Women’s League title with a thumping 44-12 home win over Llangollen on Sunday.

The Meifod side enjoyed a dream start with quickfire tries from Fiona Davies, Grace Hill and Libby Jones providing the platform to dominate the remainder of the game.

Staunch defending frustrated COBRA for much of the rest of the first-half but a try from Gemma Robinson, converted by Ffion Williams, kept the scoreboard ticking.

Llangollen rallied with two tries early in the second-half with COBRA forced to defend.

However COBRA dug deep and increased their lead despite being reduced to 14 players with Fiona Moss and Adelaide Edwards crossing the whitewash.

COBRA were not done yet and rubber stamped their victory with tries from Catrin Davies and a second from Robinson with Williams adding one conversion to cap a player of the match winning display.

The Meifod side remain in the hunt for the title with just a solitary point separating COBRA and rivals Abergele.

COBRA make the long trek to Anglesey next month with Llangefni their next hurdle in their quest for honours.
