GUILSFIELD host runaway Huws Gray Alliance leaders Airbus UK Broughton on Saturday (2.30).

The Wingmakers arrive at Clos Mytton with the title and promotion in their sights but Guils manager Nathan Leonard backed his side to spring a shock.

“They don’t get any tougher than Airbus but the lads can’t wait to challenge themselves against the best and we’ll be prepared to try and cause an upset,” said Leonard.

“We seem to raise our game against the better teams but they completely dominated us at their place so we will have to be right at it from minute one or we will have an uphill task to get anything from the game.”

The Guils go into the weekend on the back of a point at home to lowly Penrhyncoch last week.

Leonard said: “We were disappointed not to pick up three points after getting ourselves in front and having several chances to make it 2-0 but we made mistakes and switched off and they punished us.

“To be fair they gave it a right go and could have won it themselves at the end.”

The Guils squad is once again stretched by unavailability but Leonard hopes fringe players will seize their opportunity.

“I thought we’d got past this with a settled squad recently so it’s frustrating but it’s also a great chance for a few to keep their spots,” said Leonard. “If we put in a big performance there will be no changes for Holyhead the week afte.”
