ADELE Nicoll claimed a bronze medal at last weekend’s British Indoor Athletics Championships

The Welshpool star threw a season’s best 15.58m to claim a place on the podium in the women’s shot put in Birmingham.

“Things are really positive at the moment. Everything is heading in the right directions and I can’t wait for things to come together in competition so that I can show everyone what I can do,” said Nicoll.

Nicoll praised coach Ryan Spencer-Jones in her outstanding form which has already seen the Welsh Championship won this year with the British University Championship (BUCS) in Sheffield next week.

“I have won that title five times so I’m hoping to make this my sixth,” said Nicoll. “I have found a great coaching environment that suits me well.

“I have a lot of faith in my coach Ryan Spencer Jones. It is so important to trust the process and stick by smart decisions. I’ve been doing athletics since I was nine years old and I’m still completely in love with the sport.”

Nicoll also praised her team of sponsors, including Welsh Athletics, Muscle Food UK, Great Fitness/ The Armoury, Rikki Lloyd Butchers, Dawson Shanahan, PT Protein and Sports Aid.
