Forden United have bolstered their squad with the arrival of striker Joe Evans.

Evans arrives from fellow JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League rivals Maesyrhandir and joins the squad ahead of the weekend clash with Bishops Castle Town at Latham Park.

Evans said: “The style of football played at Forden is something I’d love to be involved with.

“The coach is working extra hard to facilitate coaching opportunities as well as development for all the players.

“I am really looking forward to be involved as I feel it is the right club at the right time for me.”

Manager Jonny Roberts hailed the arrival of the ex-Llanidloes and Newtown player.

“I think this shows the aspirations we have as a club,” said Roberts. “Joe has bags of experience playing at a higher standard.

“Our aim is to play as high as we can possibly get to so these players will be vital for us.

“Joe fits in straight away, he’s got bundles of enthusiasm, is keen to learn and adds another layer of quality to a great squad.”
