TNS 5

TNS marked their return from a fortnight lay off with a comfortable win at Huws Gray Alliance leaders Airbus UK Broughton

Five goals from five different goalscorers proved enough for the Saints to put their name in the hat for the last eight while inflicting the heaviuest defeat of the season on their hosts.

It took just 11 minutes for the visitors to take the lead with Danny Redmond receiving a return pass from a short corner on the right before lashing a left footed strike into the far bottom corner.

Redmond created the second when his corner found the head of Blaine Hudson who headed beyond goalkeeper Dave Roberts.

Less than a minute later Airbus responded with a goal of their own when Lewis Buckley’s strike was parried by goalkeeper Paul Harrison with Chris Marriott deflecting the loose ball into an empty net.

It took three minutes of the second-half for the Saints to get their third goal of the afternoon when Adrian Cieslewicz’s header across the box found unmarked Dean Ebbe who headed home from four yards.

Buckley reduced the deficit when he struck with 14 minutes remaining but TNS soon restored their cushion with Greg Draper latching on to a brilliantly timed through ball by Cieslewicz before firing past the advancing keeper.

The final goal came deep into added time when Draper was brought down in the area and awarded a penalty with Cieslewicz stepping up to fire beyond Roberts.
