MARTIN Thomas will bring any title fight to Llandrindod Wells.

The Llandrindod Wells boxer is currently preparing to face UBA champion Kurt Davies in Shrewsbury in March and victory would seal a Welsh light heavyweight title fight.

Thomas hopes Doran Boxing Promotions will bring the title fight to his hometown.

Roddy Doran, head of Doran Boxing Promotions, said: “This is a tough test and Martin has to deliver if he wants this big fight in Llandrindod Wells.

“Martin always brings big support with him when he fights in Shrewsbury. I always enjoy seeing his supporters. They produce a real carnival atmosphere and I want to reward them for their support by bringing a big show to their town.”

Doran is convinced Thomas, who works at Nick’s Gym in the town, is ready to step up after seeing him chalk up back-to-back wins.

“Martin has been training with us for just over a year and has made massive improvements,” said Doran. “He trains hard and I have every confidence that he will win this next fight and go on to win the Welsh title as well.

Doran hoped the proposed show in Llandrindod Wells would provide an opportunity for other Mid Wales based boxers to go on the bill with Thomas’ title fight headlining.
