MONTGOMERY Town set the pace at the top of MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two following a 2-0 win at home to Borth United.
Manager Luke Williams was joined by midfielder Tom Evans in receiving manager and player accolades ahead of kick-off with goals from Lee Jones and Sam Davies clinching Monty the spoils.
Greg Preece starred with five goals at Hay St Marys made light work of Aberystwyth University in division two with Jack Biggs and Jack Cook completing a 7-0 drubbing.
Meanwhile Four Crosses celebrated a 3-1 win at home to Rhayader Town with a Jamie Evans double and Ollie Jones strike sealing the points with Jamie Evans replying for the Red Kites.
Honours ended even at Penbont Field as Dai Thomas’ strike for Newbridge was cancelled out by Dave Edwards for Dolgellau Athletic in a 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile Duane Anning netted twice with Ewan Rhodes also on target for Presteigne only for hosts Abermule to hit back through Kamal Lloyd-Jones, David Anthony and an own goal in a 3-3 draw.
Elsewhere Machynlleth’s clash with Waterloo Rovers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Cae Glas.
