ADAM Jenkins has committed to Guilsfield.

The skilful forward had been the subject of interest from an unnamed "top four Alliance club" but has rejected overtures to remain at Clos Mytton.

Manager Nathan Leonard hoped to boost his squad further ahead of the visit of Ruthin Town on Saturday having already signed Aeron Edwards from Gresford Athletic and loan signing Aaron Lloyd from TNS.

Leonard praised his side for twice hitting back for a point at Gresford last week.

"We played well after a poor couple of games and I felt we dominated large parts of the match," said Leonard. "We had words before the game about recent performances and the lads reacted positively and worked their socks off.

"We now need to take that into Saturday against Ruthin which is a crucial game where we need three points.

"They have beaten us twice already this season so we know what to expect and it’s about time we beat them."

Meanwhile Llanrhaeadr welcome struggling Holywell Town to Llansantffraid on Saturday with manager Marc Griffiths underlining the importance of three points.

Defeat to Holyhead Hotspur last week means the villagers can ill afford to lose to the lowly Wellmen.

“Holywell need three points to keep in touch with us and the group of sides above them while three points for us would represent a big stride towards safety,” said Griffiths.

“Holywell are in a false position. They are a well established and experienced Alliance side but I’m confident we can keep upsetting the odds between now and the end of the season.”

Elsewhere in the Huws Gray Alliance lowly Penrhyncoch bid to revive their season at Flint Town United.

Manager Gari Lewis admitted his side were now in a relegation battle but hoped the signing of striker Carl Lamb would offset the long term injury sustained by Steff Davies whose groin problems have ruled him out for much of the season.

Lewis also hopes to further bolster his attacking options in a bid to kickstart their season.

Lewis said: "Flint have one of the toughest away grounds and they have a quality team at the moment with a very good coaching team running things well."

Penrhyn lost 1-0 at home to Rhyl last week and despite defeat the Roosters No1 took positives from the performance.

"It's the same old story at the moment, we are getting compliments from supporters but we are losing games," said Lewis. "We won't be giving up but we have a huge battle on our hands to stay up now and the lads know we have to start picking up points."
