Rhyl 1
PENRHYNCOCH remain in the mire as Barry Torrence’s strike proved enough for Rhyl at Cae Baker on Friday night.
Torrence headed home James Murphy’s 11th minute corner before the hosts responded with Antonio Corbisiero volleying wide and debutant Carl Lamb also going close.
It was a similar story after the break with Jonny Evans denied by goalkeeper Rory Crowther before Rhyl twice came close on the hour with home goalkeeper Lee Jenkins producing two stunning saves to deny Torrence and Murphy.
Both sides had late chances with Lamb heading wide for the hosts while Jenkins was called upon to deny Mike Pritchard but Rhyl had done enough to claim the spoils.
PENRHYNCOCH: Jenkins, C Davies, S James, Foligno, O James, Sherbon, Shaw, Lamb, Corbisiero, J Evans. Subs: Doherty, Brooks, C Jones, Williams, Mousley
