MIKE Jones was the toast of Cae Llwyn after his penalty earned Llanfyllin Town a shock 1-0 win at home to Forden United in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League Honda Division One.

Elsewhere honours ended even as promotion hopefuls Trewern United were held to a 3-3 draw at Llanfair United Reserves.

Lenon Brain netted twice for the hosts with Ashley Davies also on target while a Joe Beddoes double and Chris Lewis strike ensured the Tigers a point.

Meanwhile Newtown Wanderers boosted their Mitsubishi Division Two title bid with a 7-0 win at home to Llanfyllin Town Reserves.

Waterloo Rovers Reserves held Llanfechain to a 2-2 draw at Maesydre with a Callum Foulkes double for the hosts cancelled out by a Rob Edwards brace for the villagers.

Meanwhile a Brad Emberton double completed a shock 2-0 victory for Four Crosses Reserves at home to Maesyrhandir in the second round of the Boys and Boden League Cup.

Bishops Castle Town also sealed their progress with Gaz Bromley, Sam Naden, Adam Putson and Martyn Ziemann on target in a 4-0 win at Kerry Reserves.
