TNS 5 Llanelli 0

KURTIS Byrne stoked up the TNS title bid with a hat-trick as lowly Llanelli were swept aside at Park Hall.

The Irishman opened his account inside the opening 10 minutes with a close range finish from Simon Spender’s right wing cross and completed his brace before the break after another cross from Spender.

Llanelli were fortunate to remain in the game at the break with Jon Routledge and Danny Redmond going close.

Byrne completed his hat-trick in spectacular fashion on the hour with an overhead kick after Spender headed across the face of goal as the Llanelli defence was again found wanting.

The one sided fare continued with Greg Draper denied by the assistant referee’s flag and with 15 minutes remaining the Saints added a fourth with Routledge’s shot spilled by goalkeeper Scott Coughlan with Mullan mopping up to cross for Dean Ebbe to net.

TNS completed the drubbing with two minutes remaining with Draper diverting Routledge’s shot past Coughlan.

TNS: Harrison, Spender, Marriott, Holland (Ebbe 64), Routledge, Brobbel, Redmond, Hudson (Bodenham 67), Mullan, Byrne (Draper 64), Edwards. Subs: Dutton, Cieslewicz, Lewis.
