Porthmadog 4 Penrhyncoch 2

PENRHYNCOCH handed Porthmadog a late fright only to succumb to defeat at the Traeth.

The hosts had to be patient before breaking the deadlock with Julian Williams turning home Rob Evans’ 21st minute cross but much of the half was broken up by free-kicks.

However Penrhyn were level at the break with Sion James rifling home Antonio Corbisiero’s corner.

Porthmadog regained the lead on the hour with Ifan Emlyn on target before doubling their lead with 15 minutes left with Gruff Williams netting.

Penrhyn set up a tense finale with Jonny Evans netting a penalty with two minutes remaining after Sion Edwards offended but Porthmadog sealed glory at the death with Shaun Cavanagh firing home from a tight angle.
