CAERSWS overcame a potential upset to overcome Forden United 2-1 in the second round of the Central Wales Cup.

In a match marred by a broken ankle sustained by home striker Christian Webster the Bluebirds led through Mark Edmonson only for Tom Anderson to level for the hosts before Charlie Gordon fired Caersws into the hat for the third round.

Carno hit the goal trail in a 13-0 drubbing of Padarn United at Ty Brith.

Andy Evans led the rout with five goals while Dan Lewis and Harry Holt doubles and goals from Callum Page, Geraint Jones, Callum Breese and Richie Evans completed the thrashing.

Berriew strolled to a 6-0 win at home to Churchstoke on Friday night.

Joe Haycock netted twice while Luke Vickers, Xavier Mattisse and two own goals completed the scoring for the Rhiewsiders.

Welshpool Town also progressed with goals from Ed Baker, Will Thomas, Ian Probert and new signing Jack Harris settling a 4-0 win at home to Llanilar.

Meanwhile former Broadway star Richie Powell came back to haunt his former club with two goals as Builth Wells prevailed 4-0 derby winners with Josh Price and Joel Metcalf completing the scoring.

Jordan Harvey was also a two goal hero as Talgarth Town won 5-1 at Llangedwyn with Harry Sharman, Rob Evans and Alex Simmonds also netting for the Royals.

Max McLaughlin and Luke Mumford shared the limelight as Kerry comfortably saw off Llandsyul with Ben Hendleman completing the scoring in a 5-0 win.

Ben Jones was also a two goal hero as Bow Street battled to a 3-2 extra time win over Llansantffraid at Park Avenue.

Dylan James completed the scoring for the Magpies while the Saints remained in contention through Nathan Prodger and Bailee Austin.

Tommy Jones scored the only goal of the game as Abermule won 1-0 at Newbridge while Jamie Evans and Ben Simms struck for Four Crosses in a 2-0 win at home to Bishops Castle Town.

Llanfair United are also in the hat for the third round with Karl Seliaerts netting from 40 yards in a 4-1 win at Aberaeron.

Josh Astley, Toby Evans and Alun Hughes also struck before Sam Middleton volleyed a consolation for the hosts and United were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of Richard Astley.

Matty Tong also also saw red after earlier netting in Hay St Marys’ 3-0 win at home to Ffostrasol with Adi Lawford also netting twice for the Saints.

Meanwhile Nick Williams starred with a hat-trick with Aled Jones completing the scoring in Tywyn Bryncrug’s 4-0 win at home to Trewern United.
