POWYS’ representatives in the national round of the Welsh Schools Cup was finalised this week.

The few remaining finals were held across the region to confirm the Powys champions and representatives in the national round.

Meanwhile Bro Hyddgen claimed the under 13s boys title with a 4-1 win at John Beddoes School while Welshpool beat Newtown in the under 14s boys final to complete Powys’ list of champions.

Powys will be represented by Llanfyllin the national under 15s boys cup while Welshpool and John Beddoes will each fly the flag in the under 18s boys cup.

Newtown, including Welsh national team starlets Carrie Jones and Libby Isaac, will represent Powys in the under 15s girls final.

The draw for the national round will take place in New Year with knock out ties held through the rest of the school year.

This year a semi-final day will take place at Newtown Football Club’s Latham Park with TNS’ Park Hall once again hosting the finals in May.
