POWYS under 15s girls celebrated a 4-0 win over Denbighshire at Latham Park last week.

A Dottie Evans double and goals from Sioned Roberts and Emma Williams earned the Powys side a richly deserved victory in Newtown.

The side is coached by Rhys Stephens and has enjoyed improved results against sides from across Wales this season, including Rhondda Cynon Taff and sides from North Wales.

The side is made up of players who have been developed and coached in the Central Wales Football Association (CWFA) girls performance centre and coached by Rhys Stephens who coached Llanfair Caereinion High School girls to the Welsh Schools U13s girls final two years ago.

It is hoped the side will form the basis of a revived senior women’s league for Powys in the future.
