THE first book of a planned three volume series covering Welsh football has been released.
The ‘Enthusiasts Guide to Welsh Non-League’ covers 110 clubs across South Wales and available for £19.99.
The book will be followed by volumes covering Mid and North Wales in forthcoming years with author Mark Jones describing the work as a “labour of love.”
Jones said: “The grounds in some cases were in areas of breathtaking beauty or of rickety stands that were a complete one off. I decided to visit and record these grounds and the more I visited the more I fell in love.
“It’s been a labour of love but also taken up a lot of my time. I’m not expecting a best seller but I’m proud of the first one covering 110 clubs and 310 pages.
“I am open to suggestions of grounds to cover in Mid and North Wales. Some of which I’ve already covered with Welshpool, Oswestry and Morda being some of my favourites in the region and can be contacted at markjones489@btinternet.com.
