Cwmbran Celtic 0
TNS 3
A CHRIS Seargeant hat-trick fired TNS into the fourth round of the JD Welsh Cup and help complete a comfortable victory at South Wales League One side Cwmbran Celtic.
Niall Yeates headed over as the Gwent side began brightly with Louis Feeley and Josh Bull also going close as TNS struggled to find any early rhythm on a testing surface.
However TNS led with their first chance of the game with Seargeant slotting home a 21st minute penalty after Kurtis Byrne was clattered in the home area.
The midfielder doubled his tally just before the break with a fine individual goal with a 20 yard finish after beating three home defenders.
It was all over two minutes after the break with Seargeant clotting home from close range to complete his hat-trick and ensure his side a place in the fourth round draw.
To their credit the hosts never gave up with Feeley’s blast warming the palms of goalkeeper Paul Harrison on the hour while playmaker Bull also tested the Saints No1.
Bull’s trickery saw him fouled in the area in the dying embers of the tie bit Chris Ham’s penalty rattled the bar as TNS toasted a comfortable cup win.
TNS: Harrison, Spender, Hudson, Cabango, Cieslewicz, Seargeant, Ebbe, Byrne, Mullen, Edwards. Subs: Nembhard, Lewis, Draper, Hmami, Brobbel
