THE weekend deluge devastated the weekend Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League programme.

The eagerly anticipated first division clash between Bont and Penparcau and derby between Penparcau and Penrhyncoch Reserves each fell foul to the rain.

Meanwhile Bow Street Reserves prevailed 5-4 winners over Aberystwyth University in a nine goal thriller to seal their place in the second round of the Len and Julian Newman Trophy.

Shaun Jones starred with a brace with Ryan Morris, Rhydian Ap Owen and William Mills completing the scoring while the Students remained in contention with captain Mike Cotter-Jones netting a hat-trick and a Will Gough strike.

Elsewhere Ryan Edwards maintained his superb form with five goals as Llanilar thrashed Llanon 11-1.

Guto Roberts completed a hat-trick with Ryan Hopkins, Sion Evans and an own goal completing the rout.

Meanwhile the remaining ties between Borth United Reserves and Talybont and Dolgellau Reserves at home to Penrhyncoch Thirds will take place this weekend.
