LATHAM Park in Newtown hosted a veterans football match on Sunday.
Telford based Priorslee made the trip to Mid Wales to take on Newtown Veterans which included a raft of familiar faces from football yesteryear.
Among the players to turn out for the hosts included Abermule’s Rob Bayliss and Newtown Wanderers’ duo Austen Oliver and Lee Stephens while former Carno player Craig Scott was also in action for the Mid Wales side.
Former Kerry and Newtown Wanderers striker Jamie Smart also rolled back the years and dusted off his boots and showed he had lost none of his old instincts by getting on the scoresheet.
Paul Jones, Wayne Gilmore, Jamie Mayers, Peter Cluskey, Nicky Trigg and Neil Farrington also turned out for Newtown.
A competitive match eventually saw the visiting Shropshire side record a 5-2 victory with Newtown always in contention thanks to goals from Smart and Scott.
