Bow Street Football Club’s Amlyn Ifans has won the highly prestigious award of ‘Community Coach Of The Year’ for the whole of Wales.

Ifans received the award as part of the Football Association of Wales (FAW) annual grassroots football awards ceremony at the Cardiff City Stadium having already won the Central Wales award.

Club chairman Wyn Lewis said: “This huge achievement is totally deserved and we are delighted that the whole of Wales is able to appreciate the magnificent work that Amlyn does for our club, its junior players and for the wider community as a whole.

“Amlyn’s triumph has to rank as one of the greatest achievements ever for Bow Street Football Club.”

Ifans organises the extensive junior set-up, including the club’s summer junior cup and is also part of the first team management set-up.

Ifans added: “It would be arrogant of me to take all the credit for this award as without the hard work that goes on in the background at Bow St FC from a team of extremely committed volunteers, I certainly wouldn’t have won the award. “
