WELSHPOOL suffered a day to forget at the hands of Abergele who stormed to a 35-3 win at Maesydre.
The Game On North Wales Women’s League leaders arrived in Mid Wales determined to sign off for the festive break on a high.
Pool put in a series of hard hitting tackles early on but could not prevent Gwennan Sullivan crossing to open the scoring with Beth Rose converting.
Abergele sealed victory by the break with wing Laura Breakwell crossing for a quickfire brace of tries before Georgina Cohen crossed on half-time.
The home side reduced the arrears with a penalty from Jaya Whittingham at the start of the second-half.
However Abergele soon regained the initiative with Amy Croxton crossing for a try before Eloise Dory found the touchline late on to seal a comfortable margin of victory for Gele.
Pool bid to pick themselves up for their final match of the year at Llangollen on Saturday.
