LLANDUDNO Albion’s Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title hopes were dealt another blow as they fell to a 3-1 reverse at Greenfield.

The visitors started the contest on the front foot and were rewarded for their impressive opening to proceedings on 20 minutes when Peter Jones converted a chance after a superb spell of possession.

They were unable to convert any of the opportunities that came their way to double the advantage during the first period, and they were made to pay after the interval when Danny Calvert levelled from the penalty spot after 66 minutes.

Things went from bad to worse on 78 minutes when Liam Sumner gave the home side the lead for the first time, and the same player was on hand to despatch his second of the afternoon with 81 gone to condemn Darren Jones’ men to defeat.

There was better fortune for Division Two promotion hopefuls Glan Conwy, who emerged from their tricky trip to Amlwch Town with a comfortable 3-1 triumph.

Richard Orme got the visitors off to a flyer with a well-taken strike on 21 minutes, but this joy proved to be short lived as Jude Gallagher levelled matters on the half hour mark.

This provoked a strong response from the away side, who got their noses in front once again in first half stoppage time through Rob Marshall Jones, and three points were sealed after the break when Howard Vaughan doubled their lead a minute from time.

Mochdre Sports were unable to cause a stir at the summit as they fell to a heavy 4-1 home loss at the hands of in-form Kinmel Bay.
