LLANDRINDOD Wells returned to winning ways with a 27-22 win at Ferndale in division three east central C.
Despite trailing to an early converted try the Budgies hit back with an unconverted try from No8 Geraint Evans
The Rhondda side regained the initiative with a second converted try and penalty before the Mid Wales side responded with hooker Sam Davies powering over for a try.
Davies soon crossed for his second try of the day following a quickly taken tap penalty to reduce the deficit to two points at the break.
Llandrindod were under the cosh at the start of the second-half with Evans joined by Jack Hammond and Gareth Oakley in leading the Budgies’ defence.
Llandrindod weathered the storm and led when Evans crashed over following a five metre scrum with Ashley Hammond converting.
Ferndale looked to have snatched a draw with an unconverted try late on but with seconds remaining flanker Josh Hammond went over to snatch glory.
