RYAN Blockey starred with two tries as Machynlleth stormed to a convincing 31-5 win at home to Flint in division three of the North Wales League.

Blockley was joined by veteran Gerwyn Coleman in injecting experience into the youthful home squad and immediately made his mark with an early try.

The score set the try for the remainder of the game with Blockley crossing for a second while Cai Lewis, Richard Rees and Kameron Simmonds-Sandy also crossed for tries.

Simmonds-Sandy added three conversions as Machynlleth completed a resounding win and were further buoyed by a fine display from scrum-half Steffan Price upon his return from travelling.

However rain devastated the remainder of the North Wales programme.

Division two leaders COBRA’s clash at home to Rhyl was postponed along with the Mid Wales derby between Welshpool and Llanidloes at Maesydre.
