Caernarfon Town 1

TNS’ miserable month continued as Nathan Craig’s late penalty inflicted a second successive defeat as Caernarfon Town celebrated Friday night victory.

The home side went into the game looking to keep the pressure on the leading pack after a miserable month.

However the Saints failed to find a route through a well organised Caernarfon defence marshalled by ex-TNS youngster Alex Ramsey in the away goal.

Ramsey just did enough to put off Aeron Edwards on 31 minutes as the Saints piled on the pressure while Joash Nembhard headed wide before Gareth Edwards was forced to clear his lines as TNS went into the half-time interval dominant but frustrated.

Caernarfon handed the home side a warning early in the second-half with Craig’s free-kick causing chaos in the area with TNS surviving despite the threat of Jamie Breese and Gareth Evans.

Evans also fired wide on 52 minutes as Caernarfon grew into the game with playmaker Darren Thomas having an increasing influence.

Nembhard blocked Evans’ goalbound effort before Noah Edwards fired wide with goalkeeper Paul Harrison struggling.

TNS looked to regain their momentum with Ryan Brobbel testing Ramsey before Dean Ebbe steered a header onto the bar with 15 minutes remaining.

With eight minutes remaining the Canaries led after Thomas released Edwards whose surging run into the area was ended by Ben Cabango.

The on-loan Swansea City defender earned his marching orders before Craig stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty to pile the the pressure on TNS manager Scott Ruscoe.
