The first round of the ER Jenkins Cup took centre stage across Mid Wales on Saturday.
A thrilling tie at Cae Morfa saw Dyffryn Banw progress 7-6 on penalties after being held to a 2-2 draw after extra-time by a visiting Dolgellau Athletic.
Alun Williams and Richard Williams netted for the hosts with David Edwards replying with a brace for the Wasps before the Llangadfan side prevailed on penalties.
Abermule also progressed 4-2 on penalties after being locked in a 3-3 draw at Hay St Marys.
A Jack Biggs double and Callum Maddy strike for the hosts cancelled out a Jack Weaver brace and Nick Mumby goal for Mule who progressed on penalties.
Machynlleth celebrated a 4-1 derby win at home to Borth United with Andrew Page, Ben Davies, Paul Jones and Joseph Bell on target while debutant Jonathan Evans netted a consolation for the Magpies.
Meanwhile a Jamie Evans double and Jack Bright strike earned Rhayader Town a 3-1 win at Presteigne who hit back through Tom Crichton.
Newbridge edged a 2-1 win at home to Montgomery Town with goals from Eddie Hammond and Ollie Woods just enough for the Bridgemen while Alec Jones replied for Monty.
