GUILSFIELD welcome Porthmadog to Clos Mytton on Saturday with manager Nathan Leonard challenging his side to improve on last week’s display.

The Guils threw away a two goal lead in a 2-2 at Holywell Town last week to leave Leonard frustrated.

“We are looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday against a very good Porthmadog team,” said Leonard. “They have assembled a strong squad and like to play football the right way.

“We will have to try and stop them playing but more importantly play the way we can for 90 minutes.”

Leonard insisted his side had to maintain focus for 90 minutes after being punished at Holywell.

“It was two points dropped,” said Leonard. “We just can’t seem to stay switched on for 90 minutes at the moment and it cost us dearly on Saturday.

“However we played really well for an hour so we will be looking for that performance for the full 90 on Saturday.”

Penrhyncoch travel to Conwy Borough with manager Gari Lewis upbeat despite last week’s defeat to Bangor City.

“I was not too downhearted as it was a good performance against a very good side,” said Lewis. “Had we picked up a point it would have been a good day.

“We came up with a game plan and while the boys stuck to it we were punished by two individual errors.

“However we showed we are not a million miles away and with the table the way it is we know things can change very quickly.and the way the table is, things can change very quickly.

“If we keep working hard then we’re good enough to go on a run of wins.”

It is Llanrhaeadr’s turn to take on Bangor City this weekend with the villagers making the trip to Nantporth.

Manager Marc Griffiths confessed the fixture had been the one the club had looked out for since the fixtures were released at the start of the season.

“When the fixtures were realised Bangor would be the first one we all looked out for,” said Griffiths.

City have endured their a troubled campaign with manager Craig Harrison quitting three months into the season while this week the club’s auditors also resigned.

Griffiths insisted the Citizens remained a giant

Griffiths said: “They’ve hit the sort of form that everyone expects from a club with the players they have.

“We travel in good spirits and look forward to testing ourselves against one of the biggest clubs in Wales.”
