CAERSWS host Welshpool Town tonight (Friday) with player-coach Gareth Jones backing the Bluebirds to return to form.

Despite an outstanding JD Welsh Cup victory over Holywell Town the villagers endured a forgettable October with a derby defeat to Llanidloes Town in MMP-NL Mid Wales League One followed by a Welsh Trophy exit at the hands of Llanfair United last week.

Jones said: "We’ve hit a little bit of a sticky patch and certainly haven’t covered ourselves in glory in the big Mid Wales derbies of late, but we’re still top of the league and that has always been the priority - everything else is a bonus.

"We have to perform well on Friday in another big Mid Wales derby.

"As with everyone else, Welshpool will want to beat us with us being league tipped as league favourites.

"There is no question that the lads won’t be up for it but we’ll have to manage our game plan better than in recent weeks.”
