CLUBS will choose between three candidates to represent Central Wales on the Football Association of Wales (FAW).

Former Caersws manager Graham Evans has been joined by Carno chairman Gareth Griffiths and Welshpool Town secretary Eva Bredsdorff in the running.

Bredsdorff said: “I am specifically interested in football at grassroots level and believe strongly that for football to flourish both on a local and a national level it is necessary to support junior football, to have an understanding of the constraints and limitations of the many volunteer run clubs in Wales and to create a robust and healthy league system.

“If I am elected these are the areas, I would like to promote.”

A Carno Football Club statement added: “Gareth Griffiths is standing as a candidate in the upcoming election.

“With more than 40 years of experience playing, managing and running a local club, he is eager to speak up about the problems we encounter in Mid Wales.”
